Why, Seven? Why?

Well, Channel 7 has done it again.

Arrested Development and Scrubs have been canned in favour of a special encore screening of Desperate Housewives.

This means we are yet to all of Season 1 of Arrested, while new Scrubs have gone after a disappointing 2 episodes.

Why bother putting them on at all??

***URGENT UPDATE FROM BB***

Hang about Boxcutter. Seven haven’t pulled Arrested Development and Scrubs… you’ll just have to wait until midnight to get your hit.

AD: 12am, Scrubs: 12.30am.

Update your video programming now!

This does raise a couple of questions though:

Given our conversation last week about anything after midnight being outside of the ratings survey scope, how are seven going to have any idea what sort of demand there is for these shows and is there any way they’re going to make it back to the human side of the witching hour?

AND, how much is seven paying for these shows that they can throw them away?

Update on The Surgeon

I mistakenly mentioned that Craig Melville was the director of the first three episodes of The Surgeon. It was actually Matthew Saville.

My apologies to all those affected.

(But really, you can see how a mistake like that can be made.)

If you missed the first couple of episodes of The Surgeon you can pick them up, using BitTorrents, from here.

Then write Network Ten a letter telling them how much you love it.

Remember: Written letters are one of the only things the networks actually pay attention to outside of ratings.

Yes… who could believe that we’ve already done 8 episodes? We’re almost at our landmark 10 which we will call our Decisode of Telly!

For the moment, though, comfort yourselves with another great show. Raywatch is back with a vengance. We’ve also got an interesting look at Letters to Boxcutters and the ratings system. We take a quick look at 24 and The Surgeon. Ross has some new shows, Brett has some reviews and Josh has some news.

Ooh, there’s also more I Don’t Buy It because we know you love it so much.

What else could you ask for? No, really, what else? Let us know at hooray@boxcutters.net.

A couple of weeks ago we featured the Workchoices ads on I Don’t Buy It. A great deal of anger continues to surround the ads and how much the Government has already spent on trying to sell us legislation that doesn’t even exist. This article in Wodonga’s Border Mail is quite likely to get your blood up.

Special thanks to Ms Fits and her excellent piece of internet theatre.

It has been brought to our attention that the whole comments system has been down since the big move over to the new server. It turns out that something was ticked when it shouldn’t have been ticked. It has since been unticked and comments can once again roam free on the plains.

Bring it on!

There’s the usual batch of news, a whole world of anger with I Don’t Buy It followed by continuing anger about Channel 7’s Five Decades of Laughs and Legends/: The Naughty Bits and Princess Mary of Australia.

We have a new segment of Letters to Boxcutters which gives us a chance to justify what we do and beg you to love us.

All that and so much more (or maybe not but it just feels like it sometimes).

I don’t know what channel 7 are up to - perhaps Josh can find out for us - but they’ve drop-kicked Scrubs into the 11am slot on Monday.
