You might have caught this on The Chaser’s War on Everything last Friday. It is truly gold!

It *wasn’t* on last Friday - it was shown on the 28th of April! It’s part of a larger sketch that you can see here. Dunno why a Seven watermark was added to the version you’ve got - still, it *is* gold, though not as gold, IMO, as Chris Taylor’s stockinged head from a couple of weeks ago!
I thought I saw it on Friday May 26… Maybe I was just catching up on a tape recently.
I did read somewhere, though, that it was actually a setup and never went to air on Sunrise - they taped it especially for Chaser…
The stocking on head fashion statement was priceless with some of the reactions though.
The Chaser boys have really hit their stride with this series - a lot more consistant than their early efforts from a few years ago. Now, I’d put them in the same category as The Late Show of the early 90s by D-Gen. It’s got that same feel and Chas Lichardello has the same magic that is somehow reminiscent of the Late Show energy.
Nice site by the way.

It’s not my site, but it *is* great!
And why this shit gets 1,000,000+ viewers, and The Chaser only gets around 300,000, I’ll never know…
I can think of a few reasons…
Chaser didn’t have a three month teaser ad campaign.
The Wedge isn’t stuck on a Friday night at no particular time, but it’ll be on as soon as the movie finishes.
With Chaser, people aren’t returning each week, hoping they’ve brought back Futurama.
Chaser doesn’t have a new Simpsons lead-in.
Somewhere around 70% of the audience can’t actually figure how to work the remote to get away from 7, 9 or 10.
I wish I’d been paying attention at the time so I could remember what sort of figures the Late Show was pulling. Interestingly, Wedgey didn’t drop off that much in the second week. I actually know or have worked with most of the cast and they’re better than this - it’s such a pity the writing is SO bad. I think I’d almost put Ronnie Johns over the Wedge…
