In this week’s episode of Boxcutters:

  • Boxcutters’ special European correspondent, James Talia calls in from the super-secret Boxcutters Fortress of TV Goodness
  • We speculate on the possible reasons why the ABC would decide to drop a well performing show like The Glasshouse
  • Ross‘ friends have all been telling him how full of preservatives he is and he’s sick of it. That’s why he has special reason to go the latest McDonalds campaign in I Don’t Buy It
  • We take a look at a couple of new shows from the US Fall season - this time it’s Shark and The Class
  • And with all the TV news and more Pork on your fork, every single minute of this show is gold

So what are you waiting for? Start sucking it down here:

Good News Everybody

So channel 10 didn’t have the guts to run with Celebrity Joker Poker for another week or two. If you were watching on Tuesday night, you’ll have noticed the triple helping of Futurama…

Interesting looking at some of 10’s figures from last night: Futurama – 8:30pm 0.70 million, The Wedge 0.69 million, Rove 0.75 million - all of which didn’t get near: ABC News, The Simpsons, The Bill or Ten News (I’m not sure if that’s late news or afternoon bulletin). You’d think they got the feeling they were going to lose at least another 100k on Joker Poker to pull it and I’d be curious to see if it fit their demographic.

The Glass House comes tumbling down

This was posted yesterday on Wil Anderson’s blog:

Before you read it in the papers over the next couple of the days, I just wanted you guys to know that the ABC have decided the final ever episode of the Glass House will go to air November 29.

This decision was made some time ago so it can’t be blamed on the whole “ABC Bias” kerfuffle that’s been around recently.

I’ve remained fairly ambivalent about the show. Some shows would be killer and some would just die in the arse. Still, I’d sit and watch it to kill half an hour and I think it will be missed because it was a rare combination of political opinion and comedy.

What’s been your take on the GH for the past 5 years?
