Boxcutters Episode 64

Great big Episode 64 {aka ep 2 via the waves}.

Some News, some Pork, more Crap TV care of Channel 9 and Weeds (or should that be Wds given the amount they are editing), a look at regional tv and James Talia, Boxcutters’ European correspondent in a north bound train, somewhere in England, via a very dodgy phone line.

What more could you want?

(This is my first go at this, so be gentle!)

Having listened to the Radio Show/Podcast, I thought, how about we start a post with some Tv Song related music.

I’m sure there are enough out there for the summer-fill.

my first two are:

1. Disposable Heroes of HipHoprisy - Television, the Drug of the Nation

2. The “A” Team Theme (because it would be fun to hear) - it’s on the Napolean Dynamite Soundtrack

add more…….

Our first week on radio and… well, WE HAVE A FANTASTIC SHOW.

Now with 50% less news, we get a chance to bring more wonderful segments. Brett looks at My Australia in I Don’t Buy It, Josh looks at guest roles in television series and Ross takes a look at a very special Amazing Race.

We also talk about new Channel 9 shows for 2007.

Love it in different ways:

I was going to do this after each episode, but on second thoughts, I might shift this back to Fridays. It doesn’t seem right on Tuesdays…

One show I took off the list was Australia’s Brainiest Radio Star [7.30pm Thu, 10], as the response would’ve been fairly predictable (”NO: it contains Jo Stanley!”). The only thing I wanna say about this repeat is that the winner was a radio star when the show was taped, but was boned by the time it aired!

Simply copy the following, paste it into the comment box, and edit where necessary - even explain why you made your choice if you like! Dunno what the show’s about? That’s what the links are for!

1) The King Of Queens [7pm Weekdays, 9] - YES or NO
2) Weeds [9pm Tue, 9] - YES or NO
3) Life As We Know It [10.30pm Tue, 7] - YES or NO
4) Australian Princess [7.30pm Wed, 10] - YES or NO
5) Da Kath & Kim Code [repeat; 8.30pm Wed, ABC] - YES or NO
6) The Loop [8pm Thu, 7] - YES or NO
7) 2006 AFI Awards [9.30pm Thu, 9] - YES or NO
8) Movie: Blast From The Past [9pm Fri, 9] - YES or NO
9) How The Hell Did We Get Here? [7.30pm Sat, ABC] - YES or NO
10) Movie: Flashdance [9.30pm Sat, 7] - YES or NO
Bonus Question: Who should replace Naomi Robson as host of Today Tonight in 2007?

3 Lbs which we spoke about recently has been pulled from American screens.

After weighing the latest Nielsen numbers, net execs confirmed Wednesday that the Peter Ocko-produced medical drama has been placed on hiatus effective immediately… Skein’s low ratings dropped each week it aired, with its overall young adult average of a 2.7/7 down 16% from that of previous slot occupant “Smith.”

Meanwhile, NBC has given the thumbs up to 30 Rock and ordered a full season. The series was moved from its Wednesday night timeslot to Thursday 9:30 were it could be surrounded by other comedies. The move worked and ratings were up 13%.
