Boxcutters Episode 16

That time of year has arrived when lists are made and forced upon you, the loyal Boxcutters listener. We apologise in advance for putting you through the self-indulgent barrage of best and worst shows for the year. We promise that it will be worth your while.* It really will.**

Wrap your listening gear around what Boxcutters reckoned were the:

  • Best Drama
  • Best Comedy
  • Best Religious Talk Show
  • Best Popular Science Show
  • Best Extreme Game Show
  • Best Up-Late Game Show
  • Best use of old Bert Newton footage
  • Best screaming ad of 2005
  • Best Best Lists of 2005

We ask that you want nothing else from this show because disappointment often offends.

Have a great holiday breaky period of fun, frivolity, sun and dancing. We will return in 2006 with more about television (and maybe a fancy light and laser show).

  1. Nice show.

My greatest claim to fame is that I am step-uncle to a tint-Professor-jnr. It is well known that
he uses his own family in the ads.

  2. Hey Richard,

I would have thought your greater claims to fame would have been being the drummer in one of the biggest bands in the world ever and doing the voice thing for Thomas the Tank Engine – but maybe that’s just my take on it…

  3. Nitpick: Stacked started with the first episode. Either that, or there was an episode at the beginning without Pammy, maybe to show how dull the show would be without her.

On your break, can you find out if ABC is going to show the Doctor Who Christmas special? That would be sweet!

  4. First episode that was screened was Beat the Candidate with “Buster” Tony Hale but the real first ep was the pilot:

“In the series opener, Skyler enlists the bookstore gang’s help in ending her relationship with her philandering rock-star boyfriend while, begrudgingly, Gavin asks Skyler to return the favor to make his ex-wife jealous.”

As far as how dull the show would be without Pammy, I’m already starting to get over her aptitude to magically fall asleep on the counter whenever she’s had a big night out the night before – I don’t see how that’s funny.

Given when we saw The Office Xmas special, I wouldn’t be holding my breath to see Dr Who before December 06…

    BB
